A Faithful, Independent Resource to Support the Youth of Zion

Welcome, Leaders!
We’re so grateful you’re here. Youth Forged in Faith is an independently created resource designed by faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This program is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Church. Rather, it is intended to be a supportive tool—something that can help parents, youth leaders, and bishops provide meaningful, gospel-centered activities for their youth.

Why This Exists

We know how much time, effort, and love goes into planning youth activities. The Children and Youth program encourages inspired flexibility—but that freedom can sometimes lead to gaps, inconsistency, or overwhelm, especially when local leaders and parents are stretched thin.

Youth Forged in Faith offers:

  • Ready-made, spiritually grounded activities
  • A challenge-and-reward structure to engage and motivate youth
  • Support for all four areas of growth in the youth program: spiritual, social, intellectual, and physical
  • A format that’s easily adapted to your ward or family’s unique needs

How This Works With the Church Program

This resource was carefully designed to support and strengthen the goals of the Children and Youth program—not to replace it.

You are free to:

  • Use it as-is, or as inspiration for your own activity ideas
  • Let youth work through the challenges at home, in Sunday quorum or class meetings, or midweek activities
  • Incorporate the optional medallion or reward system to celebrate consistent effort and personal growth
  • Blend it seamlessly into what you’re already doing

What This Isn’t

To be clear, Youth Forged in Faith is not:

  • An official or endorsed Church curriculum
  • A criticism of what others are doing
  • A rigid or prescriptive replacement for local inspiration

We honor and support the wonderful ideas and initiatives happening at the ward and stake level. This is simply another tool in the toolbox—ready to serve where needed.

For Bishops and Stake Leaders

We encourage bishops, stake leaders, and youth presidencies to review the program and decide how it might fit in your area. Some may choose to:

  • Recommend it to parents as a home-centered supplement
  • Incorporate parts of it into existing midweek plans
  • Allow quorum or class presidencies to take charge of completing the challenges as a group

It can be especially useful in:

  • Smaller wards with limited leadership support
  • Wards where activity planning is inconsistent or under-resourced
  • Homes where parents want to supplement gospel teaching with purpose-driven activities

About the Reward System

Each level of the program focuses on a Book of Mormon hero and includes a theme, 20 unique challenges, and a physical medallion to mark completion. While the Church no longer offers official physical rewards, this system taps into the same motivational principle that once made Duty to God and Personal Progress so impactful—visible progress and personal recognition.

Rewards are completely optional but have proven effective in helping youth:

  • Stay focused
  • Feel a sense of accomplishment
  • Develop long-term gospel habits
